DEMIS Coil Grinding and Polishing Lines are designed for high performance and low downtime. They are usually designed with 2-3 grinding heads and 1-2 brushing heads. A protection foil is laminated to the surface on the exit side.
The coil to coil finishing machines width varies from 1.300 to 2.000 mm at a thickness range of 0,3 to 4 (5) mm. Due to the heavy duty and rigid design of the equipment a line speed of 40-60 m/min is standard for DEMIS Coil to Coil lines.
DEMIS supplies the complete line including operator terminal equipment, processing equipment, dust exhaust system and electrical automation on “Turn-Key” basis. Please feel free to ask for our stainless steel coils – reference list for Coil Grinding Lines ( CGL ) and/or for Grinding and Polishing Lines ( GPL ).
DEMIS supplies coil to coil lines for belt grinding and brushing in widths from 1.300 to 2.000 mm and coil thicknesses between 0.4 and 6.0 mm. The processing is dry. Depending on the abrasive grain (e.g. Aluminum Oxide, Silicon Carbide, Ceramic grain) and abrasive belt grain size, a wide variety of tasks can be handled. The applications range from stock removal grinding with abrasive belts of grit # 36 and a motor power up to 250 kW to the finest polishing grinding process with grit size P 1200. The surface standards are described in the stainless-steel sector according to AISI or in EN 10088 part 2 as 1G, 2G, 1J, 2J, 1P, 2P or No. 3, No. 4 and HL-Finish. Deviating from the surface standards, you will find various deviating surface qualities with customer-specific designations on the market, such as Whirpool finish, Microlon finish, Scotch-Brite finish, MCD finish, BSH finish, cork finish, Duplex finish and many more. DEMIS adapts the machine design to the surface qualities specified by the customer.
The majority of stainless steel service centers now operate machine lines for continuous grinding, finishing and brushing of coils.
Due to the high productivity of the DEMIS lines and the possibility to produce a flawless imitated brush finish (SB finish) with cork-finishing belts at line speeds of 50-80 m/min, this trend will continue in the future.
The lines are designed as CGL Coil Grinding Line or as GPL Grinding and Polishing Line.
Equipment to produce Mirror Finish, which is known as no. 7 or no. 8 finish is not available.
